Shane Lowry made Masters history with a hole-in-one at No. 6, becoming the first player with two aces at Augusta National and vaulting into contention.

Shane Lowry gave the 2026 Masters one of its signature moments Saturday when he jarred a tee shot on Augusta National’s par-3 sixth, delivering a hole-in-one that instantly became part of tournament lore.

The Irish star’s ace at the Masters did more than electrify the crowd.

It also pushed Lowry to 8-under for the week and into the heart of the leaderboard as moving day took shape at Augusta.

For a player already known for thriving on big stages, it was another reminder that he’s capable of producing magic when the pressure rises.

With the shot, Lowry became the first golfer ever to record two career holes-in-one at the Masters, adding another historic chapter to his Augusta resume.

His first ace at the tournament came in the final round back in 2016 on the 16th hole, and this latest strike gave him a rare distinction at one of golf’s most demanding venues.

The 190-yard shot on No. 6 was also the 35th hole-in-one in Masters history and the first since Stewart Cink made one in 2022.

That alone would’ve made it memorable, but for Lowry, it’s part of a larger trend. The ace was the fifth of his PGA Tour career and already his second this season, showing just how dialed in he’s been in 2026.

Lowry has now stacked aces at some of golf’s most recognizable par 3s, including Pebble Beach, TPC Sawgrass and Augusta National. That’s a list few players can match.

More importantly, the shot gave Lowry real momentum entering the closing stretch of the Masters. At 8-under, he’s no longer just producing highlights. He’s making a serious run at a green jacket.
