Wyndham Clark’s Byron Nelson win didn’t just end a drought. It punched his ticket back into Signature Events and changed his major-season outlook.

Wyndham Clark just kicked the door back open.

After slipping outside the automatic PGA TOUR Signature Event picture, Clark reminded everybody why he was a U.S. Open champion in the first place.

His three-shot win at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson wasn’t just another trophy grab. It was a statement from a player who had started to feel a little too easy to forget.

Clark closed the tournament with a ridiculous bogey-free 11-under 60, the kind of Sunday heater that turns a solid week into a career jolt.

The victory was his fourth on the PGA TOUR and immediately pushed him from No. 75 to No. 44 in the Official World Golf Ranking. More importantly, it secured him spots in the final two Signature Events of the season.

That’s a big deal because Clark’s résumé still screams elite. He won the 2023 U.S. Open, climbed as high as No. 3 in the world in 2024 and owns major exemptions most players would trade just about anything to have.

He’s already in The Open Championship through 2027, the Masters and PGA Championship through 2028, and the U.S. Open through 2033.

Still, golf moves fast. After finishing outside the top 50 in the 2025 FedExCup standings, Clark wasn’t automatically locked into every Signature Event this year.

That created the strange sight of a recent major champion needing to fight his way back into the game’s biggest regular-season stages.

He did exactly that.

The major championship picture also keeps shifting. Jiho Yang earned a spot in The Open Championship by winning the KOLON Korea Open, while Patrick Reed, Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, Min Woo Lee, Michael Kim and Gary Woodland were among the latest names to qualify for Royal Birkdale through world-ranking pathways.

On the U.S. Open side, Japan’s Ryuichi Oiwa, Kaito Onishi and Taihei Sato punched their tickets through final qualifying at Hino Golf Club.

But the loudest headline belongs to Clark. His putter got hot, his confidence looked real, and his name is suddenly back where it belongs — right in the middle of the PGA TOUR’s biggest conversations.
