The Los Angeles Angels now own the worst record in Major League Baseball at 13-23 after losing 6-0 to the Chicago White Sox Monday night.

The Los Angeles Angels just don’t have an answer for the Chicago White Sox, which are now 4-0 against the Angels this season after Chicago blanked Los Angeles 6-0 Monday night.

The Angels watched the White Sox do damage against its ace right-hander José Soriano for the second time in less than a week while getting buried by White Sox righty Davis Martin yet again.

Soriano will be happy this is the last time he has to face Chicago this season, as the South Siders put up five runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out five times in four innings. The White Sox have tagged Soriano for eight runs on 14 hits and six walks through nine innings this season – Soriano had a 0.24 ERA entering the first meeting and left with a 1.74 ERA after last night’s outing.

The Angels mustered just five hits, with two each coming from first baseman Nolan Schanuel and catcher Travis d’Arnaud, and struck out 10 times without a walk against Martin in seven innings. Los Angeles struck out four more times against reliever Sean Newcomb.

First baseman Munetaka Murakami belted his 14th home run of the season and is tied with New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge for the Major League Baseball lead. Third baseman Miguel Vargas went back-to-back with Murakami for the second time against the Angels (April 28) and this offense is one to not be messed with right now.

The Angels need a stopper – the team has dropped 13 of its last 15 games and now own the worst record in baseball, a half-game worse than the New York Mets at 13-23. Left-hander Sam Aldegheri will get the ball against White Sox righty Erick Fedde Tuesday night.

Aldegheri is 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in just one appearance this season (1.2 innings). He allowed one runs on two hits and one walk with two strikeouts against the New York Yankees on April 16 and is starting in place of Yusei Kikuchi, who is on the 15-day injured list with left shoulder inflammation. It will be the 24-year-old’s sixth MLB start.

Fedde is 0-3 with a 3.24 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in six appearances (four starts, 33.1 innings) this season and dealt against the Angels last week. Fedde tossed seven two-run innings on five hits with six strikeouts, with both runs coming on solo home runs.

First pitch is at 6:38 p.m. PDT on ESPN Unlimited, MLB.TV and regional sports networks.
