Two Angels stars crack MLB's elite 100 list, showcasing their standout performances and securing their places among baseball's best.

The Los Angeles Angels began the MLB offseason with a few moves, including trading away Taylor Ward to the Baltimore Orioles. However, the Angels have slowed down a lot with the free agency moves and trades, so it remains to be seen how competitive this team will be in 2026. Still, the Angels have some talented players on the roster, with Mike Trout as the centerpiece.

Recently, the MLB Network will be releasing the top 100 list with 10 players at a time. On Tuesday, they released the No. 81-90 players, and Mike Trout and Zach Neto made the list. Here is what the list looked like.

  • No. 81: Jose Altuve, Houston Astros
  • No. 82: Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels
  • No. 83: Edwin Diaz, Los Angeles Dodgers
  • No. 84: Aroldis Chapman, Boston Red Sox
  • No. 85: Matt Chapman, San Francisco Giants
  • No. 86: Willy Adames, San Francisco Giants
  • No. 87: Zach Neto, Los Angeles Angels
  • No. 88: Colson Montgomery, Chicago White Sox
  • No. 89: Cole Ragans, Kansas City Royals
  • No, 90: Andrew Abbott, Cincinnati Reds

Neto is a homegrown talent for the Angels and he was recently named the best homegrown player by Bleacher Report.

Neto was selected in the the first round of the 2022 Draft and has become a key piece of the roster over the past few seasons.

Trout, meanwhile, is an 11-time All-Star, 9-time Silver Slugger winner and 3-time MVP, but he has battled injuries throughout his career.

The good news is that Trout responded a bit in 2025. After player 111 games combined in 2023 and 2024, Trout appeared in 130 games with 26 home runs, which was an encouraging sign for both Trout and the Angels.

Neto, meanwhile, made a case for the All-Star team and finished with a .257 batting average with 26 home runs and 62 RBIs, so it was a strong year for Neto, who had been focused on changing his approach.

“I’ve been getting my best swing off more often than I did last year, hitting the ball way harder,” Neto said in June, via Brent Maguire of MLB.com. “Just hitting my pitch and not missing it. Doing damage to it, whether it results in an out or a base hit.”

So, it is a promising sign that the Angels have two players in the top 100 list going into the 2026 MLB season.
