The Los Angeles Angels faced the Los Angeles Dodgers last weekend and suffered more than a loss on the field following Arte Moreno's comments.

The Los Angeles Angels have been a trending topic of discussion in Major League Baseball, thanks to their controversial owner, Arte Moreno.

Over the past weekend, Moreno made comments regarding his ownership style and what he believes fans want to see, which did more than stir the pot. Going over the comments, Lucas poses a question for Angels fans, so please leave your answers in the comments! "What do you want Arte Moreno to use (ownership) his power for?" Lucas asked. "If you said affordability, you'd be correct."

Moreno said that the No. 1 thing that fans want is affordability, safety and a good experience when visiting the ballpark. To make matters worse, he also said that winning "is not even in the top five" on the list of things that fans want from their sports team.

Lucas, Bob and Peter are all in agreement that it may be one of the most ridiculous takes they've heard, and most, if not all, fans would agree.

This would explain the lack of success for the Angels, who have been set up to fail. Year in and year out Los Angeles' fans have been yearning for a postseason berth and hoping that the club will make the necessary additions each offseason to compete, but always coming up short. Moreno's comments now make one thing clear: he isn't trying to build a competitive ball club.

To back up the comments, our owner claims to have received this information from a survey -- but failed to provide any evidence or proof of the results.

Overall, Moreno's comments over the weekend have sparked outrage from fans, and will likely cause a ripple effect moving forward from Angels players, fans and others, even across the league. It may be hard to convince a free agent to sign with a team that has an owner who refuses to prioritize success, so there could be some long-term damage done to the organization.

As the club looks to get into shape for the regular season, there's a sour taste in everyone's mouth, which has even led to a meeting with the MLB Players Association, including the newly appointed director, Bruce Meyer.

Hopefully, the Angels can block out the noise surrounding the ownership fiasco and look to prepare for the regular season, which is right around the corner.
