The Los Angeles Angels have already made one move ahead of the Aug. 3 trade deadline, with the possibility of many more moves up their sleeve.

The Los Angeles Angels are once again at the bottom of the American League West and across all Major League Baseball team standings.

Sitting at 42-67 entering Thursday, the Angels are again selling ahead of the Aug. 3 trade deadline. As recently as Wednesday night, the first domino of Los Angeles' fire sale began when the club traded catcher Logan O'Hoppe and right-hander Chase Silseth to the Texas Rangers for infielder Angel Arredondo, a prospect who has spent the entire year at Single-A.

The Angels are also rumored to be dealing both righty Jose Soriano and left-hander Reid Detmers before Monday's trade deadline as well, signaling that the team has once again fell short of expectations and will need to retool for he future, at the price of major league ready talent.

Continuing on the topic of the Los Angeles clearing house, infielder Zach Neto and outfielder Jo Adell have worked their way into trade rumors as well, with our hosts Lucas and Bob discussing the possibility of the pair wearing different uniforms after Aug. 3.

While the trade values of these names aren't yet clear, Lucas hopes the Angels will trade them to contenders with deep, rich farm systems to capitalize on the returns. Setting up Los Angeles for success years into the future might be the best option for the Angels, as the club is very far from a competitive roster right now.

As for Neto, Lucas argues that the infielder is the best trade chip in Los Angeles, with multiple teams allegedly already noting interest. Between his talents on the field and multiple years of team control, under contract through the 2029 season, he's a great centerpiece in a blockbuster trade. However, Lucas does acknowledge that he might be unlikely to be moved with the aforementioned lengthy contract.

If the Angels do trade Neto, though, Lucas mentions the Boston Red Sox as a top landing spot due to their need for a shortstop and great farm system to entice Los Angeles with some talented prospects.

Adell is the other name Lucas and Bob do a deep dive into regarding his trade value, noting that a contender could land the outfielder at a cheap price.

Interim general manager John Mozeliak certainly has his work cut out for him in the coming days leading up to the deadline, so the Angels will be one of the teams to keep an eye on.
