MLB.com highlights Tyler Bremner, the Los Angeles Angels' top prospect, already showcasing frontline starter potential in Single-A.
The Los Angeles Angels have gotten off to a surprisingly good start, which is not something many expected with the way things went in the offseason.
Starting pitcher Jose Soriano has not only looked like the team's bona fide ace, but he has looked like one of the best pitchers in all of MLB since Opening Day.
Zach Neto is playing well again, and the Angels took two out of three against the Seattle Mariners and even got a win against the Atlanta Braves, despite Chris Sale getting the start.
The Angels are probably still not likely to make the postseason, but just winning games will make the fans in Anaheim happy after some frustrating campaigns lately.
MLB.com experts Sam Dykstra, Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo named one prospect that could make an impact for the big league team when they are called up.
For the Angels, they named right-handed pitcher Tyler Bremner as the prospect, who is the only player on the list that is in Single-A ball.
Bremner is currently with High-A Salt Lake City, but he should be moved up pretty soon.
Here's what they wrote about Bremner.
"The No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 Draft made his first start last Saturday with High-A Tri-City, allowing just one hit and striking out six in three innings. His combination of stuff and command should put him on the fast track in an organization that has no qualms with pushing guys up the ladder."
They added that Bremner might not be called up to the big leagues until the second half of the season, but when he does, expect him to make an impact right away.
MLB.com has Bremner ranked as the top prospect for the Angels, and he was selected second overall in the 2025 MLB Draft after playing college baseball at UC Santa Barbara.
Bremner is a San Diego native, so he has been in Southern California all his life, and he should be a name to watch once the Angels give him the call-up.
In his pro debut, he tossed three scoreless innings, striking out six batters against Vancouver, so he's already off to a strong start in the minor leagues.
Bremner has star potential, and he is viewed as a frontline starter, which is good news for the Angels.
Depending on how Bremner progresses in the minors this season, it wouldn't be surprising at all to see him make his MLB debut for the Angels in the summer.
