The Astros are already dealing with injuries heading into Monday's series opener against the Marlins. After being swept by the Orioles this past weekend, injuries are the last thing the Astros need to deal with.
Jeremy Peña left Saturday's game against the Orioles with a right hamstring cramp. The good news is he could be back as soon as Monday night after missing just one game. A hamstring is always something to keep an eye on, but the quick expected turnaround is encouraging.
Christian Walker is a bigger concern. He left the same game after grabbing his right side following a check-swing in the fourth inning and was replaced by LaMonte Wade Jr. His return is listed as TBD, which means the Astros do not have a clear timeline on when he will be back.
The Astros can not afford to be without two key pieces of their lineup for long. With a four-game losing streak and a series against Miami starting Monday, they need everyone healthy and available as soon as possible.
Just when key players start to return, more follow behind. Here is a look at everyone on the Astros injury list as of July 20, per MLB.
