The Houston Astros are coming off a tough walk-off loss to the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night, and now they look to even the series before wrapping up their trip in Tampa Bay.

If the Astros have proven anything this season, it's that they know how to make a surprising comeback. Now that the Rays have already secured a playoff spot and the Astros are looking to hold on to theirs, this is the perfect opportunity for Houston to capitalize on any letdown from Tampa Bay after Friday's celebration.

Here is a look at what to expect for the second game of the series:

Houston enters at 75-73, while Tampa Bay sits at 88-59, having already clinched a playoff spot.

Here is a look at the pitching matchup:

For the Astros:

Peter Lambert (8-8, 3.67 ERA, 137 SO) takes the mound for Houston. He's been the most reliable arm in this rotation all season, and after Friday's rough outcome, the Astros need him to give them length and keep the bullpen fresh.

For the Rays:

Ian Seymour (9-6, 4.33 ERA, 140 SO) takes the mound for Tampa Bay. Another arm that's recovered from Tommy John, he had the surgery in June 2022 and didn't make it back to the majors until 2025. He's turned into a solid piece of this Rays rotation since.

Astros lineup:

  1. Jeremy Peña (R) SS
  2. Isaac Paredes (R) 3B
  3. Jose Altuve (R) 2B
  4. Yainer Diaz (R) DH
  5. Daulton Varsho (L) CF
  6. Christian Walker (R) 1B
  7. Cam Smith (R) RF
  8. Taylor Trammell (L) LF
  9. Christian Vázquez (R) C

Rays lineup:

  1. Yandy Díaz (R) DH
  2. Jonathan Aranda (L) 1B
  3. Junior Caminero (R) 3B
  4. Liam Hicks (L) C
  5. Victor Mesa Jr. (L) RF
  6. Chandler Simpson (L) LF
  7. Cedric Mullins (L) CF
  8. Richie Palacios (L) 2B
  9. Jorge Mateo (R) SS

Losing a walk-off is never easy to shake off, but the Astros don't have much time to dwell on it with a series still on the line. A win Saturday keeps this from turning into a lost weekend in Tampa. Evening out the series is crucial with the Rangers just three games back. Houston's going to need some real power at the plate to keep up with this Rays lineup, they can't count on pitching alone to get it done.
