Teng's Last Outing
Teng is coming off a rough outing against the Angels on June 9 where he lasted just four innings, giving up seven hits and five earned runs. It was a tough night for a pitcher who had been one of the pleasant surprises of the rotation earlier in the season.
Teng has been one of the more fascinating stories on this roster. He signed as a relatively unknown arm and has worked his way into the rotation. The skill is clearly there, 49 strikeouts in limited time is a solid number. The question is whether he can string together consistent outings. Tonight is a big opportunity to prove he belongs.
The Astros now sit at 33-40 and need to start climbing. Hunter Brown is expected to return during this series, which would give the rotation a massive boost. The Tigers are a beatable opponent and this is exactly the kind of series the Astros need to take care of business in.
