The Astros closed out the series with a 6-2 win over the White Sox Thursday. The Astros are now riding a high with their third straight series win. This team has come a long way this season.

Hunter Brown was off to a solid start in the first inning, setting the tone early.
Isaac Paredes worked a 10-pitch walk off Luis Castillo with two outs in the first. Then Jose Altuve stepped up to get things going, crushing a two-run homer over the Crawford Boxes to get Houston on the board early, 2-0.
The White Sox put up a good fight, and responded quickly. Jake Rogers had an infield single past Peña, who completely laid out but couldn't get the ball to first base in time for the out. Sam Antonacci got it done for the White Sox and tied it up, 2-2.
Hunter Brown kept Astros fans on their toes in the third, looking like things were going to fall apart for him. He gave up a leadoff single, then a walk, and it looked like things were about to get ugly. But Brown kept things under control, striking out the next two, and it was smooth sailing from there. He went six innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out seven, and picked up the win.
As for Castillo, he just hasn't had it all season, and Thursday was no different. He lasted only four innings, giving up six hits, six runs, and two walks while striking out three, and his ERA is now up to 5.57 on the year. Another rough outing, and he still continues to struggle even with his new team.
The Astros blew it open in the third. Paredes doing his part again, this time a double off the left field wall to put Houston back in front, 3-2. Altuve struck out, but Varsho did his job, a two-run triple off the wall making it a three-run game, 5-2. Christian Walker tacked on an RBI single for good measure, 6-2, and from there the White Sox just couldn't catch up.
The bullpens took it from there, and neither team could do much of anything. Houston's relievers held Chicago to one hit the rest of the way. Final score, 6-2 Astros.
Astros are now 72-69, and they've taken down the Yankees, the Mets, and the White Sox in a row. Not a bad week for Houston. Now they continue their homestand and open their series against the Arizona Diamondbacks Friday night.
