An exciting and memorable week for former Astros star Carlos Beltrán and the organization as a whole, as he was officially elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on Tuesday.

Beltrán was elected in his fourth year of eligibility. He was named on a total of 84.2% of the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA) ballots, totaling 358 votes, making him the fifth player born in Puerto Rico to be elected to the Hall.

He is a nine-time All-Star and a three-time Gold Glove winner, accomplishments that highlight his remarkable 20-year career.

During his nearly two-decade-long career, he hit .279, with 2,725 hits and 435 home runs. He had 1,582 runs and 312 stolen bases, per ESPN.

There are only four players in Major League Baseball history to have 2,700 hits, 400 homers, 1,500 runs, and 300 steals under their belt. Those legendary players are Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, Alex Rodriguez, and newly elected Hall of Famer Carlos Beltrán himself.

There is a good chance Beltrán would have been elected during his first or second year of eligibility, but his association with the Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal during the 2017 World Series-winning club may explain why it took several years for voters to select him.

Beltrán, Rookie of the Year in 1999 and a celebrated All-Star and Gold Glove recipient, will now officially take his place in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
