Each year, the Astros Caravan travels across Texas, giving fans a chance to meet players, alumni, and broadcasters as Spring Training approaches.
The caravan, a longstanding tradition, connects the Houston Astros to communities through visits to schools, hospitals, and local events.
Astros alumni, broadcasters, and members of the organization often take part, adding excitement and energy to each stop.
This year, the caravan made a special visit to Driscoll Children’s Hospital, creating memorable moments for both the children and the Astros players. Four players participated: Zach Cole, Colton Gordon, Jason Alexander, and Logan VanWey.
For many young fans, meeting the Astros was a dream come true. Nine-year-old Kingsville second baseman Zavien Canales said he loves watching the players compete, play, and enjoy the game.
The Astros also took time to thank healthcare workers for their dedication and hard work.
The visit was full of inspiration and connection. It is a reminder that the Astros are not just playing for the fans but are part of a larger community. Speaking with fans and seeing their excitement firsthand makes these visits just as meaningful for the players as for the children.
These visits often serve as a reminder of why the players love the game and help strengthen their bond with Houston and its fans.
The Astros Caravan continues to be a highlight of the organization’s outreach efforts, bringing together baseball, community, and joy in one unforgettable experience.
