Astros eye Brewers' Isaac Paredes as a trade target. A deal could bolster Houston's lineup and fill Milwaukee's third base vacancy.

With Spring Training underway, the Houston Astros are once again being linked to trade talks surrounding third baseman Isaac Paredes. After adding Carlos Correa back into the infield mix, Paredes has become somewhat expendable, and his name continues to surface in conversations across the league.

The Milwaukee Brewers may now be one of the most logical trade partners.

Milwaukee recently shook up its infield by trading Caleb Durbin, Andruw Monasterio, and Anthony Seigler to the Red Sox in exchange for Kyle Harrison, Shane Drohan, and David Hamilton. That move left questions at third base. Hamilton is currently projected as an option there, but he is not a natural fit long term. The Brewers do have prospects like Brock Wilken and Andrew Fischer, but relying on young players early in the season can be risky.

This is where Paredes makes sense.

He is a two-time All-Star and remains under club control through 2027. He has proven he can provide power and stability at third base. For a Brewers team looking to stay competitive, adding a player with that résumé could solidify the position immediately.

From Houston’s perspective, the goal is clear. According to reports, the Astros want a left-handed outfielder in return. Milwaukee has options. Garrett Mitchell and Tyler Black are two names that stand out, especially given the Brewers’ crowded outfield situation.

A deal would address needs on both sides. Houston adds balance to its lineup, and Milwaukee upgrades at third base with a proven bat.

As Spring Training continues, this is a situation worth watching.
