The Houston Astros broke their losing streak on Tuesday and followed it up with a 3-1 win over the Rockies in the second game of the series, after being swept by them earlier this month in the Mile High City.

Pitching has been the Astros’ biggest issue this season, but Spencer Arrighetti delivered a much-needed boost with a dominant outing. Arrighetti set the tone on the mound, and Houston backed it up across the roster to secure the win.

Here is a look at the game highlights:

Spencer Arrighetti

  • Made his 2026 season debut vs. the Colorado Rockies and earned his first win of the year
  • Opened his outing with a first-pitch strike and totaled 6 strikeouts through the first three innings
  • Pitched 6 innings, becoming the first Astros starter to reach that mark since Hunter Brown on March 31
  • Finished with 10 strikeouts on 100 pitches, with his curveball leading the way in a dominant performance that helped steady Houston’s rotation

Offensive & Defensive Highlights

  • Carlos Correa won his first challenge of the season, overturning a call by nearly an inch
  • Christian Walker hit a sacrifice fly to bring Correa home for his 16th RBI of the year, giving Houston a 1–0 lead in the first inning
  • Cam Smith drove in Yordan Alvarez on a deep hit to left field for his 10th RBI of the season, extending the lead to 2–0 after the first inning
  • Yordan Alvarez added another home run, moving him into second in the majors with 7 homers on the season

After being swept earlier this month in Colorado, the Astros now have a chance to flip the script and complete a sweep of their own.
