Isaac Paredes came to Houston in the Kyle Tucker trade with the Cubs after the 2024 season, and he's become one of the most valuable bats in the lineup. A two-time All-Star, Paredes comes through in high pressure situations. He's currently sitting at .257 AVG, 21 HR, 86 RBI, and a .784 OPS.
Christian Walker signed with the Astros as a free agent before the 2025 season after a strong run with Arizona, where he won three straight Gold Gloves. He's had his share of cold stretches this year, but he's also come through, breaking an 0-for-11 skid in late August with a single, then turning around and homering off Gerrit Cole's curveball for a 3-0 lead in the same game against the Yankees. He's currently sitting at .222 AVG, 25 HR, 80 RBI, and a .707 OPS. The average isn't flashy, but the power numbers, second-most homers on this list, show he's been driving in runs all year long.
Jeremy Peña brings more to this lineup than just numbers. The 2022 World Series MVP and ALCS MVP, and a Gold Glove winner as a rookie, Peña's value has always gone beyond the stat sheet, and that held true again this season. He's hit 15-plus home runs in each of the last three seasons, a real sign of consistency, and this year he added 9 stolen bases, the only real speed threat among Houston's top four bats. He's currently sitting at .279 AVG, 20 HR, 51 RBI, and a .807 OPS.
Finally the obvious…
Yordan Alvarez is coming off a rough 2025, and this year has been the total opposite. A hand fracture and a freak ankle sprain limited him to just 48 games last season, snapping a streak of four straight 30-plus home run seasons and ending his year two weeks early. This season has been a full return to form, and then some. While Alvarez was in the middle of a legitimate Triple Crown chase, he has fallen off a bit recently. He's currently sitting at .311 AVG, 40 HR, 99 RBI, and a 1.027 OPS.
These four have come through during a tough season, and really contributed when it comes to keeping the team competitive and alive in the race.
