A's Add Pitcher From Rays

The A's announced today that they have claimed right-hander Chris Roycroft off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays. To make room on the 40-man roster, they have moved Jacob Wilson to the 60-day IL, officially ending his season. 

Roycroft, 29, has been with both the St. Louis Cardinals (15.19 ERA in five appearances) and Rays (6.52 ERA in 11 appearances) this season for a combined 8.39 ERA across 24 ⅔ relief innings. 

The one positive the A's can work with here is that the right-hander limited free passes with Tampa Bay, trimming his walk rate to a tidy 4.7%. It has sat at 10.8% over his career.
