A's Option Luis Morales to Triple-A Las Vegas

The Athletics selected left-handed pitcher Ben Bowden from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned right-handed pitcher Luis Morales to Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Bowden has spent the entire season at Las Vegas and is 1-1 with three saves, a 5.40 ERA and .855 opponents OPS in 32 relief appearances.  He has struck out 45 batters in 36.2 innings and has walked 15.  The 31-year-old left-hander has not allowed a run in 11 of his last 12 appearances for a 1.26 ERA.  Bowden logged a 4.22 ERA in 11 relief appearances with the A’s last year and is 3-2 with a 6.02 ERA in 50 career games with the Rockies (2021) and A’s (2025).

Morales was recalled on July 24 for his fourth stint with the A’s and allowed 11 runs on 10 hits in 6.2 innings over two appearances.  He is 0-2 with a 14.06 ERA in five games overall and is also 1-3 with a 7.18 ERA in 19 games, nine starts, with the Aviators.
