Jacob Wilson Expected to Miss Remainder of 2026 Season

On Thursday Martín Gallegos reported that Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson will be placed on the IL and will be visiting his doctor in Sacramento to get his shoulder checked out. His season is likely over.

Earlier today we wrote about what it would mean for the roster if Wilson were to miss the final six weeks, and after that went up, the A's claimed Johnathan Rodríguez off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Rodríguez is an interesting bat with some promise, and could now get a look with Wilson headed to the IL.
