Shea Langeliers Lands on IL

The Athletics have placed All-Star catcher Shea Langeliers on the IL with a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Brian Serven has been recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas in his place and figures to serve as the backup to Jonah Heim.

There was no timetable reported for Langeliers’ recovery. Because he’s a catcher and the recovery time is usually weeks if not months, this has the potential take him out for most of the rest of the season.

Of course, we’ll have more details shortly.
