Jacob Wilson's Updated Surgery, Denzel Clarke's Return

Jacob Wilson's shoulder surgery is set to happen a little sooner than previously reported, now scheduled for a week earlier on September 9. The Athletics also have lockers in the clubhouse in Texas for centerfielder Denzel Clarke and right-handed relief pitcher Yunior Tur, with rosters set to expand to on Tuesday.

Clarke has been out of action with the A's since landing on the IL on April 22 with a bone bruise in his right foot. His rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas began on August 18, and in that span he has hit .344 with a .462 OBP, two home runs, seven RBI, seven walks, and 12 strikeouts.

He still hasn't been playing full games in the field, so the plan for him when he gets activated is still unknown.

Continuing rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas

RHP Gunnar Hoglund (60-day IL): Lumbar strain/left hip impingement

Underwent successful surgery on his left hip on May 19 in Vail, Colo. 
Out for the remainder of the 2026 season

RHP Brooks Kriske (60-day IL): Right shoulder impingement

Will have surgery tomorrow, Sept. 1, with Dr. Freehill at Stanford Orthopedics

INF Joshua Kuroda-Grauer (10-day IL): Testicle rupture and repair

Continues to progress with reconditioning activities
Is playing catch and will start a swing progression this week

1B Nick Kurtz (60-day IL): Right thumb strain

Received a PRP injection on Aug. 4 for a volar plate tear of the MCP joint
No baseball activities at this time

C Shea Langeliers (10-day IL): Right knee meniscus tear

Underwent successful right knee surgery on July 28 
Dr. Banffy performed a medial meniscectomy and patella femoral chondralplasty 
Continuing to progress with hitting and running progressions

RHP Mark Leiter Jr. (60-day IL): Right hip impingement

Underwent surgery on July 28 to repair right hip labral tear
Out for the remainder of the 2026 season

OF Brent Rooker (60-day IL): Left knee articular cartilage surgery

Underwent successful surgery on July 17 to debride an articular cartilage tear and remove loose bodies
Out for the remainder of the 2026 season

RHP Luis Severino (60-day IL): Right shoulder strain

Continuing a throwing progression, out to 105 feet

OF Tyler Soderstrom (60-day IL): Left hip impingement

Underwent successful surgery on Aug. 21 to repair left hip labrum tear and FAI with Dr. Philippon.
Out for the remainder of the 2026 season

RHP Justin Sterner (60-day IL): Right knee chondromalacia

Underwent successful surgery on Aug. 13 with Dr. Banffy to debride articular cartilage

SS Jacob Wilson (10-day IL): Left shoulder subluxation

Surgery scheduled for Sept. 9 with Dr. ElAttrache to address instability in the shoulder
