Daniel Vogelbach had two separate stints with the Jays before hanging up his cleats.
The World Series resumes on Monday night when the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays play at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The Brewers lead the series 2-0 and are two wins away from their first World Series title ever. The Rays are looking to stay in the series and are also seeking their first World Series championship.
One of the key figures for the Brewers in this run? Hitting coach Daniel Vogelbach, who is also a former member of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Still only 33 years old, Vogelbach was a second round pick of the Chicago Cubs in the 2011 MLB Draft. He was traded to the Seattle Mariners in 2016 and made his debut with Seattle in that same year. He broke out with Seattle in 2019, hitting 30 homers and driving in 76. However, he never hit for a high average and the Mariners let him go in August of 2020. He was picked up by the Blue Jays, but played just two games before being let go again and picked up by Milwaukee.

He was with the Mets in 2023 and then spent 31 games with the Blue Jays in 2024, his final stop.
In total, he hit .219 with 81 homers. With the Jays, he hit .176 in 33 career games. He had just one home run as a member of the Jays.
After his playing career ended, he spent 2025 on the Pirates' coaching staff. He was hired by the Brewers in January of 2026.
About the 2026 Blue Jays
While Vogelbach is trying to win his first World Series title, the Blue Jays are still trying to figure out exactly what went wrong this season.
Toronto, who played in the World Series in 2025, went 79-83 and finished last in the American League East. The Jays finished last in baseball in runs scored and home runs, and they are reportedly in the mix for Japanese star Teruaki Sato, which would help alleviate some of those problems.
He won the Triple Crown in the NPB this past season, hitting 39 homers and driving in 106. He also played in the World Baseball Classic alongside Kazuma Okamoto, the Jays best slugger from this season.
