With the major league regular season now behind us, it's onto the playoffs for 12 teams. 

Unfortunately, one of those teams is not the Toronto Blue Jays, meaning that the Jays are now onto offseason tasks in readying for 2027.

With the minor league season now entirely behind us, it's now onto awards season though, and a pair of Jays prospects were highlighted once again on Monday night.

As noted by MLB Pipeline, infielder Sean Keys earned a spot on the Prospect Team of the Year. Right-handed pitcher Nolan Perry did not win the "Breakout Prospect of the Year Award," but he did finish as a finalist after an excellent season.

Now 23 years old, Keys was a fourth-round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft out of Bucknell. He spent the first 49 games of this season with Double-A New Hampshire, hitting .285 with 14 homers and 34 RBIs while posting a robust .411 on-base percentage.

Then, he spent 51 games at Triple-A Buffalo, hitting .303 with 14 more home runs and 46 more RBIs. In just an even 100 games, he hit .294 with 28 total home runs.

His minor league resume also netted him the Blue Jays Minor Leaguer of the Year Award from Baseball America.

Keys came up to play 25 games in total for the Jays at the big league level, hitting .197 with two homers, nine RBIs and a .242 on-base percentage.

He's best suited for a corner infield spot, but given the presence of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Kazuma Okamoto, he may have a tough time finding a spot in 2027. The Blue Jays may want to teach him some corner outfield to increase his versatility, and there's always a chance he could see time at designated hitter, especially if injury issues continue to persist with Anthony Santander.

However, those 28 home runs don't grow on trees, especially for the offense that finished last in the category in 2026.

Ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the organization behind JoJo Parker, Perry is also the No. 94 prospect in the MLB Pipeline Top 100.

Listed at 6-foot-2, he was a 12th-round pick of the Blue Jays in the 2022 MLB Draft out of the New Mexico high school ranks. He missed the 2025 season with injury but rebounded excellently this season, posting a 3-4 record and a 2.50 ERA in 21 appearances (20 starts). He finished up his season with nine appearances at Double-A. He had a 2.32 ERA in those appearances for the FisherCats.

In total, he struck out 117 batters in 82.2 innings. Opposing hitters hit just .181 against him.

He represented the Blue Jays at the MLB Futures Game, along with Parker. He's projected to make his major league debut next year.

How he fits into the mix also remains to be seen. As it stands right now, Dylan Cease, Jose Soriano and Trey Yesavage have the 1-3 spots in the rotation. Cody Ponce, coming off an ACL injury, figures to be at No. 4. That means the No. 5 spot is open, and someone like Perry will have a chance to vie for it. However, given his limited workload this year, it seems more likely that he'll have to ease into a starters role at the big league level.
