With just under seven weeks remaining until spring training, the Toronto Blue Jays currently lead baseball in spending this offseason.
As was noted earlier this week by Jeff Passan of ESPN, the Jays have spent $277 million guaranteed, which is about $60 million more than the next closest team (Baltimore Orioles).
Here are the top five, per Passan:
TOTAL OUTLAY
Toronto: $277M
Baltimore: $206.9M
Philadelphia: $174.5M
Atlanta: $108.3M
Seattle: $99.8M
It should be noted that Athletics have vaulted up the list after signing Tyler Soderstrom to a seven-year extension worth nearly $90 million. In the case of the Blue Jays, that spending all comes in the form of three players. Dylan Cease was given a $210 million deal, Cody Ponce was given $30 million and Tyler Rogers was given $37 million guaranteed.
After getting to the World Series in 2025, the Blue Jays have been hyper aggressive in trying to win the organization's first title since 1993. And they don't figure to be done.

If the rest of the offseason goes the way that the Jays want it to, Toronto could blow well past the $500 million spent mark. The Jays have been connected to Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker, and there's the chance they could bring back incumbent infielder Bo Bichette, who is also a free agent. Each of those players will likely get above $150 million and Tucker could approach the $400 million mark.
While he wouldn't cost as much, we also recently heard that the Jays are interested in third baseman Yoan Moncada, who is a 10-year veteran of the Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Angels.
--While the Jays were aggressive with Cease, the rest of the starting pitcher market has moved slower. Framber Valdez and Ranger Suarez, two star lefties, remain unsigned.
--The bullpen market has seen a lot of movement at the top with Rogers, Raisel Iglesias, Kyle Finnegan, Kenley Jansen, Pete Fairbanks, Devin Williams and Edwin Diaz signing, but there are still plenty of relievers available.
--Outside of Tucker, Bregman and Bichette, the most prominent position player still available is Cody Bellinger. While not a guarantee, it's been expected that the Yankees will retain him and pair him with Aaron Judge in the outfield.
--The World Baseball Classic begins in early March and national teams around the world are setting up rosters. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has already committed to play for the Dominican Republic.
