While the major league season wasn't all that great for the Jays in 2026, the player development has continued on the minor league side. Here's the latest on a trio of Jays prospects in the AFL.
The Toronto Blue Jays are not regarded as having a particularly strong farm system, but that group has continued to develop this fall through the Arizona Fall League.
And on Wednesday, the Jays were rewarded for their developmental efforts, as pitcher Jake Bloss, outfielder Jake Cook and catcher Aaron Parker were named to the Arizona Fall League All-Star Game.
That game will take place on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET and will air on MLB Network.
Here's what you need to know.
The Jake Bloss file
Bloss was drafted by the Houston Astros in the third round of the 2023 MLB Draft after pitching collegiately at Georgetown. He ascended into being one of the Astros' top prospects, and he even made his major league debut with Houston in 2024, making three starts.
However, Houston traded him to the Blue Jays that summer in the deal that sent Yusei Kikuchi to the Astros and it's been downhill for him ever since.
In total, he's never won a game in the Blue Jays system, going 0-13 between the three years. He missed most of 2025 and 2026 with Tommy John surgery, so a lot of those numbers need to be discounted as a handful of starts pre-surgery and post-surgery.
But, he still has a solid pedigree, and he's still just 25 years old, so it would be wise to keep seeing what he can do.
He's ranked as the No. 11 prospect in the Blue Jays system right now, per MLB Pipeline. He has an ERA of 8.44 in the AFL, giving up 10 earned runs in 10.2 innings. He has 11 strikeouts in those 10.2 frames.

Now 23 years old, Parker was a sixth-round pick of the Blue Jays in 2024 out of UC Santa Barbara. He spent this season at Double-A New Hampshire, hitting .253 with 19 homers and 48 RBIs in 87 games.
He's played 10 games in the AFL, hitting .351 with a .479 on-base percentage. He has a homer and eight RBIs, and he's also stolen seven bases.
As for Jake Cook...
Currently ranked as the No. 20 prospect in the organization, per MLB Pipeline, Cook was a third-round pick in the 2025 draft out of Southern Miss. An absolute burner on the basepaths, he stole 22 bases in 77 games between Rookie Ball and Single-A Dunedin. He also hit .250 in total with a .367 on-base percentage.
In addition to being a good runner, he's also a good defender. He's hit .328 in the AFL with 10 stolen bases in just 14 games.
