The Toronto Blue Jays have had a large amount of turnover on the front-end of the bullpen this season, in large part due to injuries and inconsistencies.

The bullpen could potentially get a boost to it this week with the potential return of high leverage right-handed reliever Yimi Garcia, who's been on a rehab assignment for a month and has been out the entire year due to arm surgery.

Before Garcia's potential return, Toronto opted to deal away one of its low leverage arms.

The Blue Jays traded right-handed pitcher Connor Seabold to the Kansas City Royals in return for right-handed reliever Denis Samudio and cash considerations on Monday.

Seabold has had two respective stints with Toronto this season, making the Royals the third team he's been on this year.

The Blue Jays originally signed the 30-year-old right-hander to a minor league contract Jan. 21. He was released two months later March 21 before making an appearance in the game for the organization.

The Detroit Tigers signed Seabold to a minor league contract March 23. He made 11 appearances for the Tigers and posted a 3.45 ERA and struck out 14 hitters in 15.2 innings pitched.

Seabold was placed on the injured list April 26 due to left ankle inflammation and was activated off the IL May 15. He was traded to Toronto in return for left-handed pitcher Juanmi Vasquez on May 27.

With the Blue Jays, Seabold had an 8.10 ERA and fanned one batter in 3.1 innings across five outings. He was designated for assignment June 10.

Seabold was out of minor league options, meaning he had to either be sent outright to the minor leagues after clearing waivers or sign another minor league deal upon refusing an assignment and becoming a free agent.

The 30-year-old was placed on Kansas City's 40-man roster upon the trade.

Samudio is still in the early stages of his professional career. He was signed by the Royals to a minor league contract as an international free agent out of Panama on Jan. 17, 2025. He's yet to make his major league debut.

The 21-year-old righty has spent this season with the Arizona Complex League Royals and Single-A Columbia Fireflies.

He has a 4.12 ERA and has struck out 22 hitters in 19.2 innings pitched across six appearances (three starts).

Samudio was assigned to the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays following the completion of the trade.
