Several of the Blue Jays best minor leaguers will be featured in the team's annual spring breakout contest

The Toronto Blue Jays are currently in the midst of preparing for a regular season that is brimming with expectation.

The Blue Jays boast one for the best major league rosters in the American League. But more fans will get a firsthand look at the best players Toronto's minor league system has to offer.

The Blue Jays announced their initial pool of 40 players for their annual Spring Breakout game Thursday. The annual contest highlights the best minor leaguers for the two respective organizations competing.

All of Toronto's top 100 prospects (per MLB Pipeline) are on the initial 40-man pool of players. That list will get trimmed down to 23-27 players two days before the game takes place.

Other notes

All three of the Blue Jays' top 100 prospects are currently on the spring breakout roster pool.

  • Yesavage, Toronto's top 100 prospect, made his major league debut in September. He made three starts in the regular season and had six outings (five starts) in the playoffs. He had a 3.58 ERA and struck out 39 batters in 27.2 innings pitched.
  • Parker, the eighth overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, will play in his first professional game assuming he makes the 23-27-man roster. He's just 19-years-old.
  • The Spring Breakout game will take place against the Philadelphia Phillies at 1:05 p.m. ET on March 21 at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Fla.
