Another Ronald Acuna Jr. injury update was revealed.
The Atlanta Braves were defeated by the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. Before the game, a Ronald Acuna Jr. injury update was revealed.
Acuna is dealing with a hamstring injury. The star outfielder is hoping to return soon. While it seems like he could return sooner rather than later, the Braves are waiting until he can play outfield to bring him back from the injured list.
On Saturday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com shared a video of Acuna running the bases along with a report on X (formerly Twitter). Bowman reported that Acuna would like to be activated within the next few days, but Braves manager Walt Weiss said the team is waiting until Acuna can return to the outfield.
The fact that he was able to run the bases on Saturday is encouraging. He is certainly close to returning, but an official date for Acuna to join the ball club once again has yet to be revealed.
The Braves are playing well overall despite their defeat on Saturday. Nevertheless, they would love for Acuna to return as soon as possible.
The team will continue to monitor and provide updates on Ronald Acuna Jr. as they are made available.
Braves Lose to Red Sox on Saturday
Atlanta has been the best team in baseball in 2026. Meanwhile, the Red Sox are in last place in the American League East standings. With that being said, Boston earned a 3-2 victory on Saturday in Atlanta.
The Braves and Red Sox had a pitcher's duel. Bryce Elder turned in eight innings of three-run baseball for Atlanta, while Payton Tolle allowed only two runs across eight innings of work for Boston.
Both pitchers performed well, but Tolle ended up earning the win.
The Braves ultimately recorded two runs on four hits. Drake Baldwin had two hits at the top of the lineup, while Jose Azocar added two hits at the bottom of the lineup. The rest of the lineup was rather quiet, however.
The Braves and Red Sox are tied 1-1 in their series heading into Sunday's contest. It has been a competitive series so far, as the Red Sox are challenging MLB's best team.
Sunday's matchup will likely be another competitive ball game between the Red Sox and Braves. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 PM EST on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta as the Braves look to get back into the win column.
