The latest Ha-Seong Kim injury update was recently revealed.

The Atlanta Braves are playing well despite dealing with a number of injury concerns. The injuries in the starting rotation have been mentioned on a consistent basis, but shortstop Ha-Seong Kim is also out with a finger injury. The Braves recently shared a Kim update via Mark Bowman, as Kim is reportedly taking live batting practice.  The infielder is scheduled to participate in a simulated game on Thursday and he could even begin participating in a week or two, Bowman reports.

Atlanta would love to have Kim return as soon as possible of course, but the team will proceed with patience. Mauricio Dubon, who has played shortstop amid Kim's absence, is playing well. He entered Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies hitting .319/.365/.493 across 19 games played.

Dubon is a tremendous utility player, though. The Braves will likely be able to find a way to keep his bat in the lineup on a fairly consistent basis even when Kim returns. Dubon is capable of playing shortstop, second base and in the outfield.

Kim re-signed with the Braves this past offseason. He spent the 2025 campaign between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Braves. His overall numbers were underwhelming, but he found more success in Atlanta. Kim ended up recording a slash line of .253/.316/.368 across 24 games played with the Braves.

Barring any setbacks, it does seem as if Kim could return before too long. May could be reasonable, but it remains to be seen how many injury rehab games he will require before returning.

Updates will continue to be provided on Ha-Seong Kim's injury status as they are made available.

Braves Playing Well Despite Injuries

The Braves have been an incredible story in 2026.

As mentioned, Kim suffered an injury during the offseason. A number of starting pitchers -- including Spencer Strider and Spencer Schwellenbach -- suffered injuries during spring training. Sean Murphy is still recovering from an injury as well. Additionally, Jurickson Profar received a full season suspension for PEDs during the spring.

Despite the adversity, Atlanta has managed to perform at a high level. At 13-7 overall, the Braves currently hold a 4.5 game lead in the National League East standings. As players return from injury, the Braves will only continue to improve.

The Braves are currently playing the Phillies in Philadelphia. Atlanta is looking to further build its lead in the National League East standings.
