Who is the Braves' top prospect this season?

The Atlanta Braves feature a number of intriguing prospects heading into the 2026 MLB season. The Braves' official top 30 prospects were recently announced, via MLB.com. So, who was selected as the top prospect for the 2026 season?

Right-handed pitcher Cam Caminiti is once again Atlanta's No. 1 overall prospect. At only 19 years old, Caminiti is likely still a few years away from the big league level. MLB.com has his MLB ETA set for 2027.

His future is bright without question. The six-foot-two 195-pound southpaw throws a hard fastball to go along with a slider and changeup. He's still developing overall command of his pitches, but his stuff should play in the big leagues.

Fans may need to wait to see him pitch in MLB, but they can still watch him in the minor leagues this season. He has yet to pitch above Single-A, but he could make the jump to Double-A soon. In 2025, the left-hander turned in a 2.08 ERA across 13 starts at the Single-A level. He added 75 strikeouts in his 56.1 innings of work.

Cam Caminiti is the Braves' top prospect for 2026, but which other players made the list? Let's take a look at the rest of Atlanta's top five overall prospects.

Braves' Top 5 Prospects for 2026 Season

RHP JR Ritchie, RHP Didier Fuentes, SS/OF Tate Southisene and SS Alex Lodise follow Caminiti in that order.

Ritchie will be worth keeping a close eye on in 2026. The Braves' current starting rotation is battling injury trouble and Ritchie -- a 22-year-old right-hander with an MLB ETA set for 2026 -- is almost ready for the big leagues.

At 20 years old, Fuentes could make his MLB debut soon. Meanwhile, Southisene, 19, and Lodisie, 21, are likely still a few years away from reaching MLB.

Overall, the Braves feature a respectable mixture of pitchers and position players within their top five prospects. Atlanta has not always been known for having the best farm system, but there is some serious talent within the organization at the moment. Caminiti and Ritchie have received most of the attention, but other Braves' prospects should not be overlooked.

The future is bright in Atlanta. Caminiti is the best prospect within the organization, but Ritchie will likely impact the team sooner rather than later. Perhaps both pitchers will lead Atlanta's starting rotation at some point down the road.
