"We’re seeing the maturation of Michael Harris before our eyes," Weiss said.
He added that Harris has displayed overall improvement. Weiss mentioned that Harris has been able to get into better counts and not chase pitches out of the zone. The manager explained how Harris has always hit the baseball hard, and now he is putting everything together at the plate.
Weiss believes that Harris chasing less pitches out of the zone has played a crucial role in his success. It is something that has led to better pitches to hit, and Harris is clearly finding success.
Harris, 25, is hitting .309/.336/.496 in his 41 games played. The outfielder has also recorded seven home runs and five doubles.
Harris won the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 2022. He has endured ups and downs since the '22 campaign, however. It seems like Harris is officially back on track in 2026, though.
If he continues to play like he is at the moment, Michael Harris II could earn his first All-Star selection.
