Braves' Cam Caminiti Among MLB Pipeline's Top 10 LHP Prospects for 2026 Season cover image

Cam Caminiti is establishing himself as one of the better pitching prospects in baseball.

Atlanta Braves pitcher Cam Caminiti has established himself as one of the more promising prospects in baseball. MLB Pipeline is taking notice, as the 19-year-old is ranked among the top 10 left-handed pitching prospects heading into 2026.

Caminiti checks in at No. 10 overall on the list. Thomas White of the Miami Marlins leads the way, while Boston Red Sox pitcher Payton Tolle is second. The list features many young hurlers with bright futures.

The fact that Caminiti is on the list at just 19 years old and after having just been drafted in 2024 is impressive, though. Caminiti is the youngest pitcher among the group. Everyone else is 21 years old or older with some guys -- such as Tolle and Connelly Early -- already being 23.

MLB Pipeline has Caminiti's MLB ETA set for 2027. While he is indeed likely at least a year or two away from being ready for the big leagues, Caminiti's development is clearly occurring at a rapid pace.

Cam Caminiti Features the Potential of an Ace

The 6-foot-2 195-pound left-hander has electric stuff on the mound. He only throws three pitches on a consistent basis, so adding a fourth could make a difference in the future. Still, his fastball reaches up to the high-90s while he throws a reliable curveball and changeup as well.

In all reality, Caminiti's pitches are arguably MLB ready. For the young southpaw, it all boils down to being a pitcher and not just a thrower. Command of the strike zone is something he is still working on -- like most young hard-throwing pitchers.

In 2025, he pitched to a 3.09 ERA between Rookie-Ball and Single-A. Most of his starts came at the Single-A level, where Caminiti turned in a strong 2.08 ERA in 13 outings. He recorded 75 strikeouts in his 56.1 innings of work, but he did walk 26 hitters en route to a 1.22 WHIP.

Nevertheless, Cam Caminiti is displaying all of the signs of a future ace. The Braves are surely excited about the southpaw's future. WIth their current left-handed ace, Chris Sale, turning 37 years old this season, Caminiti could end up being his replacement in Atlanta in the future.

For now, Caminiti will focus on his development in the minor leagues. Braves fans may not see Caminiti at the MLB level for another year or two, but excitement is building around the pitching prospect.
