The Atlanta Braves are looking to rebound from a 2025 season that saw them finish in fourth place in the National League East with a 76-86 record. It was a surprising performance for an often consistent Atlanta ball club. The Braves have made some offseason additions to bolster the roster, though. If their stars can stay healthy and the new additions perform up to expectations, the Braves should be back on track in 2026.
Bleacher Report seems to agree. Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report recently released his power rankings for 2026 ahead of spring training. Reuter has the Braves ranked 10th overall, a respectable position for a 76-win team in 2025.
Unsurprisingly, the Los Angeles Dodgers are ranked at the top. Meanwhile, the Chicago Cubs are second overall, which is surprising. The Cubs brought in Alex Bregman and Edward Cabrera, but their placement at No. 2 overall may still lead to disagreements among fans.
The New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees round out the top five in that order. Meanwhile, the Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies and Braves are ranked from No. 6 to No. 10 in that order.
While No. 10 overall is not a bad position, it still places Atlanta on track to finish third in the National League East behind the Mets and Phillies.
New York seemed to be on track for a difficult offseason after losing Pete Alonso and Edwin Diaz early in free agency. They have since rebounded by bringing in Bo Bichette, Luis Robert Jr., Freddy Peralta and others.
As for the Phillies, Philadelphia has had an up and down offseason. On one hand, they have re-signed stars JT Realmuto and Kyle Schwarber. On the other hand, they have not made any especially notable outside additions and also missed out on signing Kyle Tucker and Bichette.
The Braves have not lost many of their impactful players. They have brought in Robert Suarez and Mike Yastrzemski among others as well. It has not been the best offseason in the league necessarily, but the Braves have made enough moves to potentially bounce back and compete.
The NL East projects to be one of the most competitive divisions in all of baseball. The division features three of the better teams in the sport -- all of whom could end up in the postseason via a division title/Wild Card spot.
