Patrick, Brewers Slide Past Angels

The Milwaukee Brewers have a lot of reasons to keep piling up victories to maintain their lead in the National League Central Division. The Los Angeles Angels are just trying to get to the end of this season and board a boat to Cancun.

Chad Patrick worked two innings in relief and Jake Bauers hit his 20th home run this season as the Brewers beat the Angels 3-1 in Anaheim, Calif., on Saturday night.

Patrick, now 6-4 this season, came on for Brewers manager Pat Murphy after five innings from starter Robert Gasser. Gasser allowed four hits, one earned run, walked two, and struck out six. Trevor Megill earned his 18th save.
