The Milwaukee Brewers made a significant investment in their future on the opening day of the 2026 international signing period, announcing the addition of 22 international free agents to the organization.
The new class represents years of work from the club’s international scouting department and reinforces Milwaukee’s commitment to building talent from the ground up.
According to the Brewers, this year’s signing group stands out not only for its size but also for its overall quality. Several of the newest additions are already regarded among the top international prospects in the 2026 class, giving the organization an influx of high-upside players across multiple positions.
Director of International Scouting and Player Personnel Taylor Green emphasized that the class reflects years of preparation and evaluation, adding that the Brewers are eager to welcome both the players and their families into the organization.
Headlining the group are five players ranked among Baseball America’s Top 100 international prospects for the 2026 signing period. That list includes Venezuelan shortstops Diego Frontado and José Rodríguez, along with Dominican shortstop Ricki Moneys.
Also joining the system are Venezuelan catcher Moises Salazar and Dominican shortstop Angeni Fernandez, each of whom brings a blend of athleticism and long-term potential.
Several of those signees are also highly regarded by MLB Pipeline. Moneys, Frontado, and Rodríguez are all ranked within Pipeline’s Top 50 international prospects for 2026, further underscoring the strength of Milwaukee’s latest international class and the organization’s ability to compete for top talent on the global market.
Director of International Player Evaluation Luis Pérez credited the collaborative efforts of the scouting and front office staffs, noting the diversity of skills within the group. Pérez highlighted the players’ athletic traits, physical projection, and varied profiles as qualities that could have a meaningful impact on the organization in the years ahead.
The Brewers have seen tangible results from international signings in recent seasons. Outfielder Jackson Chourio, signed during the 2021 international period, has already made history at the Major League level.
Meanwhile, infielders Jesús Made and Luis Peña, both signed in 2024, enter the 2026 season as the organization’s top two prospects according to Baseball America.
With this latest class, Milwaukee aims to continue that pipeline of international talent, reinforcing a development model that has become a cornerstone of the franchise’s long-term success.
