After going 19-7 in May, the Milwaukee Brewers opened up June with a 16-2 win over the San Francisco Giants at American Family Field in Milwaukee, marking their highest-scoring game of the season.

A big part of the Brewers’ 18-hit, 16-run night was Brice Turang, who went 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBIs and two walks. Turang had a triple in the second inning that scored two of Milwaukee’s seven runs in the frame. Prior to that, he had a double in the first inning.

After the game, Turang talked with the media about his results.

"Yeah, just going out there and competing," Turang said. "Making sure the guys are throwing strikes and taking good swings at it. So, trying to control what I can control and have quality at-bats."

It is hardly the first time this season that the Brewers have put together a bunch of runs in one frame, though those types of results tend to occur for them in the middle innings. According to Turang, there is a key element to their offensive success.

"Yeah, I mean, hitting is contagious," he said. "It kind of just keeps going. Free bases or base hits, it's just contagious. So, it was a good offensive game for us tonight, which was really good. And pitching-wise, our pitchers did a really good job, too."

When the Brewers’ offense catches fire like it did on Sunday, the momentum stemming from it leads to a good feeling for Turang and his teammates.

"It's like constant traffic, everyone's on base, obviously a ton of runs and walks tonight," Turang said. "Yeah, it feels good, it feels good for everyone. Having quality at bats kind of starts the roll. So making them throw strikes, and when they do, we crush them.

"So, these guys have been doing a really good job at that," he added "And we just gotta keep going out there and keep moving."

In Sunday’s 2-0 win over the Houston Astros, Turang was unable to log a hit in his four at-bats. However, manager Pat Murphy believed he was hitting the ball hard and did not have anything to show for it. Turang felt like he was close and, against the Giants, the right results emerged.

"Yeah, I felt like I was a click away, and the balls I did hit hard were just right to him," Turang said about his game against the Astros. "So, you just control what I can control, and I'm having quality at bats, and going out there and competing, and yeah. So, control what you can, and the rest will kind of work itself out."
