The Milwaukee Brewers' 22-year-old phenom eclipsed Ryan Braun’s franchise mark and now eyes a historic MLB milestone.
The Milwaukee Brewers have a superstar on their hands, and his name is Jackson Chourio.
Chourio, 22, went 1-for-4 in Game 4 with a walk and an RBI.
He may only be hitting .188 in the series, but he was once again a huge contributor as they took down the San Diego Padres at Petco Park, 3-1.
Milwaukee's historic 12-game postseason franchise losing streak came to an end, and Chourio drove in as many runs as the Padres had all game.
There's no doubt the Brewers wouldn't be in this spot without Chourio, someone who has now surpassed Ryan Bryan as the franchise's all-time leader in playoff RBIs.
Not only that, but Chourio is one RBI away from breaking the all-time MLB record for postseason RBIs before turning 23 years old.
Chourio stands alone
It's crazy to think that in only 16 postseason games, Chourio has more playoff RBIs (17) than Braun had (16) in 27 games.
Chourio's playoff resume speaks for itself, though obviously he'd love to guide this team to their first-ever World Series championship.
The job isn't finished, far from it, but Chourio is officially No. 1 on the Brewers playoff RBI leaderboard in a list that includes legends like Braun and Cecil Cooper.
For reference, Cooper had 13 RBIs in 17 games played, so even he's four RBIs shy of Chourio with one extra game played.
MLB history is within reach
Tying Andruw Jones was one thing, but breaking his record in the National League Championship Series will be another.
Jones put up 17 playoff RBIs in 45 games, which, at the time, was the most of any player before their 23-year-old season in MLB history, according to MLB.com's Sarah Langs.
Suddenly, Chourio has reached that mark in nearly 30 fewer games.
The Venezuelan native will turn 23 on March 11, so he still has the rest of this postseason to stand alone at the top of the MLB leaderboard before becoming too old for this record.
Regardless, he's putting together one of the most notable Brewers playoff stretches in franchise history, and he's still only in his third year in the league.
Chourio is slashing .188/.263/.375 but has a .638 OPS throughout his first 16 at-bats in the 2026 postseason.
He already has six RBIs in the playoffs this year, which is only two shy of what he did a year ago when he played in five more games and had 17 more at-bats.
