Milwaukee Brewers' Trevor Megill secured August honors after a dominant scoreless stretch.
A pair of relievers put up a 0.00 ERA during the month of August and left Major League Baseball no choice but to award them.
Houston Astros' Josh Hader was named the American League Reliever of the Month, something that comes as no surprise with his seven saves in 14.1 innings of work.
Hader, the former Milwaukee Brewers closer, struck out 15 batters and didn't allow a single run.
Speaking of the Brewers, Trevor Megill, the team's closer for the last few seasons, certainly had himself a month to remember as well.
The 32-year-old somehow keeps getting better as he threw 12 scoreless innings, notching eight saves with seven strikeouts en route to being named the National League Reliever of the Month.
Megill has only given up one earned run since June 10
For those keeping track at home, it's not only the month of August that has seen Megill do his best work. The Brewers closer has been locked in since he got removed from that spot earlier in the year for Abner Uribe.
Megill couldn't have gotten off to a worse start in 2026, but now, he's one of the most dominant closers in the game.
The Brewers were thrilled to see their former closer and current one honored in the month of August as these two have both been through the highs and lows this game has to offer, but currently, they're on top of the world.
Megill hasn't allowed a run since Wednesday, July 22, but he still picked up a save in that game.
He took a loss on Tuesday, Aug. 25, but the only run he allowed was unearned in extra innings, and it was only the second time all year he was asked to record more than three outs.
Regardless, Megill hasn't blown a save since Friday, June 5, an outing that oddly saw him pick up the win as well.
In addition to his 25 saves, which is good for 11th in the league, Megill is 2-3 with seven holds. He's only blown two saves all year, a number that is incredibly low for how much he struggled from March 30 to April 14.
At the end of the day, the Brewers know they're in phenomenal shape with Megill on the mound. He's the backbone of a stellar bullpen, one that had to bail Jacob Misiorowski out last night.
Megill's ERA is now down to 2.19, which is the lowest it's been all year. Remember, this is a guy whose ERA was as high as 14.40 this season, and while that was back in mid-April, it's still amazing to see how much he's been able to turn his season around.
