A pair of Milwaukee Brewers superstars have set new career highs with just four games remaining in the regular season.
For what it's worth, Brice Turang already had a career high when he hit his 19th home run back on Saturday, Sept. 12, but recording No. 20 against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday, Sept. 23, was a huge milestone.
It marks the first 20-home-run season of Turang's career, proving just how much of an asset he is at the plate to go along with his Gold Glove-level defense.
Elsewhere, William Contreras is up to 93 RBIs this year, which is a new career high for the 28-year-old player.
Previously, Contreras never had more than 92 RBIs in a year, and that mark was set in 2024 during his second season with the Brewers.
Knowing Contreras only had 76 RBIs in 150 games a year ago, it's incredible to see him record 17 more this season in six fewer games and 10 fewer at-bats.
Turang's power could be a huge difference maker
This isn't a Brewers team that relies on the long ball, but Contreras and Turang are two players who definitely have that ability in them.
Turang is up to 51 career homers, though it's worth noting 38 of those have come in his last two seasons.
After starting with 13 home runs in 2023-24, Turang flipped a switch and has since unlocked a new power surge that could guide this team to a World Series.
Here in 2026, Turang is a career-high 7.2 WAR player. He's slashing .265/.365/.444 with an OPS of .810. To no surprise, his on-base percentage, slugging, and OPS are all career highs.
Contreras is as good as it gets
According to Brewers senior director of media relations Mike Vassallo, Contreras has the single-season franchise record for most runs driven in by a catcher.
Contreras has 93 overall, and 88 of those have come in games where he's the catcher.
Obviously, manager Pat Murphy likes to give him a defensive rest from time to time, so there have been quite a few instances where Contreras will either play a full game as the designated hitter or come in for a clutch pinch-hitting appearance.
Regardless, he broke the franchise mark, which was previously set by Hall of Famer Ted Simmons back in 1982.
Together, Contreras and Turang are two key pieces of the puzzle for a Brewers squad that is one victory away from their first-ever 100-win season.
