The Milwaukee Brewers could soon regain two key bats as Jackson Chourio, Andrew Vaughn near return.

The Milwaukee Brewers may not have to wait much longer to get a much-needed boost to their lineup as both Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn continue to trend toward returns from the Injured List.

Each player has been sidelined with injuries to the left hand, though recent medical updates provided encouraging signs. Chourio is recovering from a small fracture near the base of his middle finger, while Vaughn is working back after undergoing surgery to address a fractured hamate bone.

During a scheduled off-day, both players received positive evaluations from their doctors, marking another step forward in their respective recoveries. For Chourio, imaging confirmed that his fracture is healing properly.

While he has not yet been cleared to resume hitting, he has begun increasing his activity level, including baserunning and light throwing work as he builds back toward full strength.

The primary concern for Chourio at this stage is avoiding setbacks, particularly with movements that could place stress on the healing area. Team officials remain cautious about the potential impact of a check swing, which can generate sudden force on the hand.

As a result, the Brewers are opting to give him additional time before allowing him to face live pitching again.

Vaughn’s progress has followed a slightly different path after undergoing a procedure late last month. He recently had his stitches removed, another key milestone in his recovery process. With the surgical portion behind him, Vaughn can now begin focusing more fully on regaining strength and timing at the plate.

Despite their absence, Milwaukee has managed to stay competitive, particularly in matchups against left-handed pitching. The club has held its own in those situations, but the underlying numbers reveal a clear drop-off in power production.

The lack of right-handed hitters has contributed to a noticeable dip in slugging percentage, underscoring the importance of getting both Chourio and Vaughn back into the lineup.

While neither player has a definitive return date, the steady progress suggests that help is on the horizon. For a Brewers team looking to maintain its footing early in the season, the impending return of Chourio and Vaughn could prove to be a timely and impactful boost.
