Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski is set to make the first start Opening Day of his MLB career on Thursday.

On Thursday, the Milwaukee Brewers will welcome the Chicago White Sox for Opening Day, and right-hander Jacob Misiorowski will get the starting nod.

Recently, Misiorowski talked about wanting to achieve a speed of 104 mph in his start with ESPN personality Pat McAfee. After that interview, Misiorowski talked with local media about that goal.

“I mean, I think that's the goal every time,” Misiorowski said. “So, I think, you know, if it happens, it happens. But, you know, at the same time, if it's 102, I'm still looking at it.”

Misiorowski also touched on where his velocity was during the ramp-up in Spring Training. As someone who has previously stated that he thrives with adrenaline, he talked about how adrenaline dictates his velocity.

“I think it was right where I needed to be,” Misiorowski said. “You know, there's a thousand people in the stands. There's not 40 [thousand]. “So, I think the adrenaline's not there.

"You know, the 99 with no adrenaline is, you know, 102 with adrenaline," Misiorowski said. "So, it's give or take. "

Misiorowski, 23, is entering his second MLB season. Last year, after only five starts, he became the fastest player ever to be named an All-Star. Now, he will add another accolade to his resume by being the Opening Day starter.

It is an environment that will provide plenty of adrenaline for Misiorowski, which he is looking to feed on.

“I mean, I think it helps a lot," Misiorowski said. "I think it's one of those things that you kind of look for, and, you know, [if] it's not there, you kind of got to figure out how to work without it.”

In the 2025 postseason, Misiorowski appeared in three games and logged a 2-1 record with a 1.50 ERA and a 0.83 whip through 12 innings of work. It was an experience that, going into his Opening Day start, lends to settled nerves.

“I mean, yeah, I think the jitters are out,” he said. “I think it's ready to go. So, I think it helps a lot just knowing that, you know, it's the same game. But, you know, that we keep working on it.”

Misiorowski also discussed what his gamedays look like, and they are not alike.

“I mean, some days my fiancée makes breakfast. Some days we go get breakfast,” Misiorowski said. “So, it, you know, it depends. Family’s in town, stuff like that. So, it's not the same thing.”

Misiorowski is expecting several family members to be in attendance for his Opening Day start.

“Not as much as my debut,” he said. “But, you know, probably seven or eight, somewhere in there. So, yeah, it's going to be fun.”
