Brewers Only Announce Two Starters vs. Giants
Jun 1, 2026 3:55 PM

As mystery surrounds the back half of a crucial four-game set, the Milwaukee Brewers lean on its league-leading bullpen and surging starters to navigate a grueling stretch without rest.

With an upcoming four-game slate against the San Francisco Giants, it's a bit alarming to see the Milwaukee Brewers have only announced two starting pitchers.

More will come with time, but it's not like Brandon Woodruff, Quinn Priester, or Logan Henderson are going to take the mound in Milwaukee.

This is a crucial stretch for the Brewers as they still have to go another week and a half without an off-day, so every inning counts from a starting rotation that has been tremendous, for the most part, this season.

Four-game series are never easy to manage, but they're even more difficult knowing what's to come and knowing an opener may have to be used. This could be a series that's decided by the bullpen, but thankfully the Brewers just had the best team ERA in baseball for the month of May.

Landen Roupp (5-5, 3.30 ERA) vs. Shane Drohan (2-1, 2.63 ERA)

Of the 11 games Drohan has pitched in this season, he's made just one start. Sitting at 2-1, it's important to note Drohan also has a three-inning save under his belt, along with a pair of holds.

Drohan's last win came on Monday, May 18, in Chicago, where he threw 4.1 scoreless innings against the Cubs. Of the three runs he gave up in the month of May, two of those were against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Obviously, his approach changes as a starter, but the Brewers expect more of the same out of him as he's been tremendous all year long.

Tuesday, June 2

Trevor McDonald (2-2, 4.34 ERA) vs. Kyle Harrison (6-1, 1.57 ERA)

Harrison has been one of the best pitchers in this Brewers rotation. On any other team he'd be the clear ace, but that's an impossible mountain to climb knowing he's on the same team as Jacob Misiorowski.

Regardless, Harrison has picked up the win in three straight starts and five of his last six. He allowed just three runs in the month of May in 28.0 innings pitched. It was a bit odd seeing him strike out just two batters in his last start compared to the 11 he struck out in Chicago, but either way, Harrison gives this team a ton of hope and has gone 6.0+ innings in three of his last five starts.

June 3 and June 4 TBD

While the Brewers have yet to announce their starters for the final two games of the series, they know they'll be facing Logan Webb (2-4, 4.82 ERA) on Wednesday and Adrian Hauser (2-5, 5.59 ERA) in the series finale.
