The Milwaukee Brewers notched another win thanks to some big performances on Saturday.

The Milwaukee Brewers notched their fourth-straight victory on Saturday by defeating the Miami Marlins, 5-2. Afterward, manager Pat Murphy praised the effort of the group, starting with a strong outing by Brandon Woodruff.

“Yeah, Woody was tremendous,” Murphy told the media. “Again, William [Contreras] and Woody worked together. That was the way they navigated the fifth, sixth, and seventh was beautiful.

"Actually, all game, he just did a great job. And just goes to show you old school command and keeping them off balance. Yeah, they did a great job together.”

Woodruff went seven innings in his fourth start of the season, his longest outing yet in the early days of the 2026 campaign. He struck out four batters while only allowing three hits, one earned run and a walk.

The run he did allow came via an RBI single in the bottom of the second inning. After that, he didn’t allow the Marlins to score as long as he was on the mound. Additionally, he only allowed one more hit the rest of the way.

The Brewers also took advantage of the pitches Miami right-hander Sandy Alcantara delivered. While Milwaukee did not hit the ball at a high clip, it drew a season-high 11 walks, six of which came off Alcantara.

Alcantara’s day was over after five innings in which he struck out only one batter while allowing the six walks as well as five hits and three earned runs.

“Sandy's really, really good,” Murphy said. “He's really good today. It was tough to see. His change up's devastating. His heater's really good. And I just felt like guys did a great job of running him up.”

The star of the show for the Brewers offensively was Brice Turang, who notched two hits in three at-bats while drawing two walks and pushing through three RBIs.

“And Turang had a huge game,” Murphy said. “And yeah, it's not that we put out a bunch of hits, but we grinded out some AB’s. I mean, we're not playing great, and we're not great. We know that, but they're getting the most out of it.

“So, I'm proud of those guys,” Murphy added. “Turang's in a good, beautiful spot, and playing the crap out of defense, too.”

Beyond Turang’s effective day at the plate, Garrett Mitchell exercised strong discipline by drawing a team-high three walks. Shortstop Joey Ortiz also contributed by drawing two walks, and the Brewers only had to go two deep in their bullpen thanks to Woodruff’s marathon outing.
