The Milwaukee Brewers opened up the month of June in dominant fashion on Monday with a 16-2 rout of the San Francisco Giants, marking their highest-scoring game of the season.

The Brewers logged 18 hits in 38 at-bats in the win, and a combination of five pitchers that included Shane Drohan, Chad Patrick, DL Hall, Grant Anderson, and Jake Woodford held San Francisco’s offense in check after it scored 19 runs against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

After the game, Brewers manager Pat Murphy discussed a seven-run second inning by his team to get the offensive momentum going, as well as what came after.

"That's a big inning," Murphy told the media. "Against a good pitcher, that's a good sign. You think about [Jake] Bauers' challenge there, that started the whole thing, and then, yeah, bunch of guys, Sal [Frelick], swinging the bat great; [Andrew] Vaughn doing his thing. [Brice] Turang, Yelly [Christian Yelich] having some good at-bats. [David] Hamilton, wow, The way he's playing, a fun game."

Turang went 2-for-2 in the win, with one of hits coming in the form of a two-RBI triple to contribute to Milwaukee’s big second inning. According to Murphy, the way Turang was hitting against the Houston Astros in an 0-for-4 appearance on Sunday demonstrated that he would eventually get the right results.

"Yeah, I mean, the way he swung the bat yesterday with the three hard knocks," Murphy said. Then all got caught, you know what I mean? And, you know, it's just a matter of time. He's still taking his walks. They're pitching to him really, really tough.

"He's never hit third," Murphy added. "You know, over and over, and there's something to it, you know? So, proud of him the way he hung with it and came out big tonight."

Murphy also took additional time to praise Frelick, who went 2-for-5 with an RBI, and Hamilton, who went 3-for-5.

"Proud of Sal, the way he swung the bat, yeah," Murphy said. "And Hamilton's just getting better and better, defensively, offensively."

Outfielder Jackson Chourio also earned his flowers following his performance that featured two hits and a team-high three RBIs, and the pitching staff was lauded for their performance.

"Churio had a huge, couple huge at-bats for us tonight," Murphy said. "But the pitching staff, again, you know, Drohan, his first year in the big leagues, and he goes out and throws four innings, does a good job. Patrick Hall and Anderson and Woodford, you know, throw up zeroes. Let's not underestimate that."
