The Brewers are making a bold fashion statement next season by revamping their wardrobe. On Thursday, the team unveiled a redesigned road uniform featuring powder-blue tops, a modernized revival of the classic look worn by Milwaukee legends from the early 1970s to the mid-1980s. Icons like Hank Aaron, Robin Yount, and Paul Molitor were part of that era and wore the same color scheme on the road.
The updated look combines the powder blue jersey with gray pants and a navy-and-yellow cap, officially replacing Milwaukee’s long-standing gray road set. This new uniform will be the club’s primary road uniform, joined by four other designs that remain in rotation: the cream home set, the white pinstripes, the navy alternate road look, and the City Connect uniforms.
While powder blue has been seen in recent years, most notably through the team’s City Connect release in 2022, the Brewers are now fully embracing the color as part of their standard identity. According to SportsLogos.net, Milwaukee is now part of an unusual group of clubs, along with Seattle and Tampa Bay, that no longer feature a traditional gray road jersey.
The team explains that the refreshed design combines nostalgia with a contemporary presentation. The powder blue color pays homage to the club’s early Milwaukee years, a time that included MVP seasons from Rollie Fingers and Yount as well as a trip to the 1982 World Series. Yellow accents are a nod to one of the Brewers’ original team colors, connecting the uniform to the city’s brewing heritage. Navy details align the look with the franchise’s modern branding.
A prominent “Milwaukee” script is prominently displayed across the chest, and the typeface is a sturdy, slab-serif style inspired by the city’s industrial background. Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger stated that the uniform was designed to reflect the character of Milwaukee while honoring various eras of team history.
The Brewers will take the field in their new look during Spring Training, but fans won’t have to wait that long to see it up close. A limited early release goes on sale Friday morning at the Brewers Team Store at American Family Field.
