The Milwaukee Brewers will send seven players to the Arizona Fall League.
The Milwaukee Brewers will have several intriguing prospects continuing their development in the Arizona Fall League this fall, with seven players set to join together in Scottsdale, Ariz., for another stretch of competitive baseball.
The Brewers’ group is headlined by outfielder Braylon Payne and corner infielder Eric Bitonti, two of the organization’s more highly regarded young hitters. Both will have an opportunity to build on productive seasons while facing some of the best prospects from across Minor League Baseball.
Payne enters the Fall League as Milwaukee’s No. 6 prospect and could be one of the players with the most to gain from a strong showing in Arizona.
The 20-year-old has long been recognized for his speed and defensive ability in center field, but his offensive development has added another dimension to his prospect profile. After being selected 17th overall in the 2024 MLB Draft, Payne has begun showing that his offensive ceiling could extend well beyond his ability to create havoc on the bases.
That was particularly evident during the 2026 season.
Payne hit 28 home runs and stole 25 bases across 102 games between High-A and Double-A. The combination of power and speed gives him one of the more intriguing tool sets in the Brewers’ system, and another productive stretch could push him firmly into the conversation among MLB’s Top 100 prospects.
Bitonti provides another significant power threat for Scottsdale.
The 6-foot-5, left-handed hitter is ranked No. 26 among Brewers prospects and has plenty of raw power in his offensive profile. While first base appeared to be becoming his more natural defensive destination, Bitonti showed encouraging signs at third base during the second half of the season with Wisconsin and Biloxi.
That versatility could be an important part of his continued development.
The Brewers will also send catcher Matt Wood to the Fall League after he spent the season in a productive Double-A lineup with Biloxi. Wood may not receive as much attention as some of the organization's higher-ranked prospects, but his 2026 season gave Milwaukee plenty to like.
Over 95 games with Biloxi, Wood hit 18 home runs while producing a 134 wRC+. He also posted a 52-to-71 strikeout-to-walk ratio, showing an ability to consistently reach base and control his at-bats.
The rest of Milwaukee’s Scottsdale roster features right-handers Ryan Birchard, Miqueas Mercedes and Josh Quezada, along with left-hander Jose Meneses.
The Arizona Fall League begins Oct. 3 and will give the Brewers’ prospects several more weeks of competition after the conclusion of the regular Minor League season. The championship game is scheduled for Nov. 14 at Peoria Stadium, while the Fall Stars Game will take place Nov. 8 at Salt River Fields.
For Milwaukee, the Fall League offers another opportunity to evaluate a group of young players at different stages of their development. Payne's power-speed combination, Bitonti's developing defensive versatility and Wood's offensive consistency make the Brewers' Scottsdale contingent particularly worth watching this fall.
