The Milwaukee Brewers are rolling out a new look for their second generation of City Connect uniforms, one designed to represent not only Milwaukee, but the entire state of Wisconsin.

The club’s latest alternate jersey features “Wisco” across the front, a nod to the nickname commonly used throughout the state. The Brewers will debut the uniforms this weekend during their home series against the Washington Nationals at American Family Field.

Unlike the organization’s first City Connect set, which centered heavily on Milwaukee, this redesign takes a wider view.

The previous uniforms, introduced in 2022, highlighted the city through details such as “MKE” lettering, the 414 area code, and a tailgate grill emblem. Those jerseys are now being retired as the franchise shifts toward a statewide theme.

The new uniforms keep a familiar color palette but reinterpret it through a broader Wisconsin lens. The primary dark blue is meant to symbolize the state’s many lakes, rivers, and shorelines.

Cream-colored accents reference sandy beaches and sandstone landscapes found throughout Wisconsin.

Perhaps the most eye-catching detail is the gradient used in the “Wisco” script and trim. Shades of orange, yellow and blue are intended to resemble summer sunsets across the state, from the Northwoods to the Lake Michigan shoreline. The vivid colors also mirror the appearance of a fishing bobber floating on a lake at dusk.

The typography itself blends several elements of Wisconsin history. The script is influenced by the original Milwaukee Brewers teams from the early 1900s, while also borrowing from classic brewery labels and old-fashioned supper clubs. The result is a design that feels both modern and rooted in tradition.

Several smaller details throughout the uniform reinforce the statewide concept. A braid featuring wheat and barley appears on the sleeves and pants, recognizing both Wisconsin agriculture and the brewing industry that gave the team its name.

The sleeve patch includes the club’s Barrelman logo alongside the outline of Wisconsin, emphasizing support from every corner of the state.

Inside the collar, the word “Forward” appears as a tribute to Wisconsin’s state motto. Meanwhile, the former grill emblem from the original City Connect jerseys has been replaced by a new patch showing a fishing bobber and baseball resting on a lake.

Though the original City Connect uniforms are being retired, the Brewers will still wear powder blue through their newly introduced road uniforms, allowing part of the previous design era to remain in the club’s rotation.
