Fresh off a record-breaking win total, the Milwaukee Brewers remain far from satisfied.
The Milwaukee Brewers are in the midst of a historic season, one that saw them go into an off-day knowing the magic number to clinch a bye in the playoffs is one.
Not only that, but they just set a franchise record for the most wins in a single season.
Pat Murphy is on his way to a third straight National League Manager of the Year award, and ace Jacob Misiorowski will likely become this team's first Cy Young Award winner since Corbin Burnes in 2021.
Even with all of that said, there are still four obtainable goals this team has to achieve here in 2026.
1. Clinch the first-round bye
As previously stated, the magic number for this to take place is one. Milwaukee had a bye last year, and it bought them some much-needed time, which eventually led to an appearance in the National League Championship Series.
Knowing there are still six games remaining, it would take a miracle for the Brewers to go 0-6 and the Atlanta Braves to go 6-0. Remember, the Brewers need just one win to clinch, or they need the Braves to lose just one of their final six games.
2. Finish with the best record in all of baseball
It's not like this Brewers team has made the World Series lately, but this sure feels like the year to do so. Should that happen, securing home field advantage means everything.
Currently, the Brewers are two games up on the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Tampa Bay Rays are also only two and a half games back, so that's definitely a team to monitor, but at the very least, the Brewers know they can clinch home-field advantage through the NLCS, as their magic number against the Dodgers is four.
3. Win 100 games
Fresh off their final off-day of the year, the Brewers are sitting at 98-58. This is the first time they've ever won 98 games in a year, and it's the first time they've ever been 40 games over .500.
Now, the mission is simple. This year gives them their best shot at winning 100 games in a single season, and all it'll take is a 2-4 record down the stretch to do so.
4. Win the World Series
The Milwaukee Brewers have never won the World Series, but this team is special. There are still a few questions to be answered regarding the starting rotation, but as long as the Brewers play half as well in the postseason as they did in the regular season, they have to be the odds-on favorites to win it all.
