Fueled by Jacob Misiorowski’s historic dominance and a relentless, young lineup, the Milwaukee Brewers pair collective grit with elite pitching to dominate the National League ahead of a deep October run.
The Milwaukee Brewers clinched a place in the postseason on Friday, and hold MLB’s best record at 93-57. Although their roster features new faces, they remain young, feisty and capable of grinding down opponents while overpowering them on the mound.
Jacob Misiorowski received the opportunity to become Milwaukee’s next ace after Freddy Peralta was traded to the New York Mets during the winter. He has firmly established himself in that role and will most likely win the 2026 National League Cy Young Award.
Misiorowski leads MLB with 236 strikeouts along Dylan Cease of the Toronto Blue Jays. No MLB starter with at least 100 innings has a lower ERA than him (His tied with New York Yankees ace Cam Schlittler).
His numbers tell part of the story, but his blistering fastball has helped make him one of this century’s most exciting pitchers. The next question concerns what he can accomplish in the postseason.
Logan Henderson, on the other hand, has been a very solid number two pitcher in the rotation. He’s 10-3 with a 2.34 ERA and 0.78 WHIP in 88.1 innings over 16 starts, with 99 strikeouts against 15 walks.
A consistent offense
Jackson Chourio has remained special during his third season. He does not merely accumulate extra-base hits because he consistently capitalizes on opportunities.
After missing the opening weeks with a fractured left hand, Chourio is hitting .292/.349/.493 with 23 home runs, 67 RBIs, 50 extra-base hits and an .842 OPS in 115 games.
One year after breaking out, Brice Turang could finish 2026 with 100 RBIs. Through 139 games, he has 92 RBIs and needs one home run to reach 20. Batting behind Chourio has placed him in a favorable position, but both players have converted those opportunities.
William Contreras has again elevated his game during the second half. After a poor second half in 2025, he reestablished himself among MLB’s most productive catchers. Contreras is hitting .273 with 17 home runs and 86 RBIs in 137 games this season.
Milwaukee does not yet possess one or two premier sluggers. Andrew Fischer, whose raw power ranks with anyone in the minor leagues, could eventually become one. For now, the Brewers succeed through their collective strength.
Unsung heroes and bullpen
Chourio, Turang, Contreras, Christian Yelich and several unsung contributors have driven the lineup. Jake Bauers is having a career year, with 26 home runs and 83 RBIs in 134 games.
The rookies have contributed significantly. Cooper Pratt signed a multi-year extension before reaching MLB and has combined speed, defensive prowess and the ability to spray the ball to every field. Luis Lara has become a human highlight reel in the outfield.
Milwaukee also owns a good bullpen. Aaron Ashby leads primary relievers with 13 wins, reflecting his usage and performance in important situations. He’s posted a 3.21 ERA and recorded 109 strikeouts in 81.1 innings across 70 appearances (one start).
His victory total is three higher than Antonio Senzatela’s, who joined Milwaukee through an August trade with the Colorado Rockies.
DL Hall, Abner Uribe and closer Trevor Megill all rank among the leading relievers in wOBA and ERA. Megill has a 2.59 ERA and 0.90 WHIP in 55.2 innings over 57 appearances, with 27 saves in 29 opportunities.
Milwaukee’s postseason path could include the Chicago Cubs or Philadelphia Phillies, but reaching the Fall Classic requires defeating every National League opponent in their way, including the Los Angeles Dodgers.
