The Milwaukee Brewers would love nothing more than to set a new franchise wins record this season.
The Milwaukee Brewers enjoyed Monday, Aug. 24, off, but now they're set to begin another stretch of 16 games in 16 days.
These stretches have taken place far too often for the team with the best record in all of baseball, but clearly, it hasn't fazed them.
Milwaukee is currently in New York for a three-game series against the Mets, a team they took two out of three games against in their second series coming out of the All-Star break.
This is a Brewers team that sits at 81-50, so there are a few major milestones within reach; it's just a matter of whether Milwaukee can continue to consistently win games down the stretch.
Brewers must go 16-15 to tie franchise record
For as good as the Brewers were last season, somehow, the 2026 version of Pat Murphy's squad is even better. In order to tie the franchise win record, Milwaukee needs to finish just one game over .500 in their final 31 games. Sounds easy, right?
17-14 record would set a new franchise record
In order to set the new franchise record for wins in a season, the Brewers must finish this season going three games over .500.
Again, knowing how well this team has performed in 2026, that doesn't seem like it's going to be super hard to obtain. It's just a matter of if everyone stays healthy, and if a guy like JoJo Romero adds as much to the bullpen as the team expected when they traded for him at the deadline.
100 wins is within reach
While tying the franchise record would be nice, setting it sounds much better. At the end of the day though, if there was ever a season to win 100 games, it's this one.
With 31 games remaining, the Brewers would need to finish seven games above .500 to make that happen.
Can the Brewers go 19-12 down the stretch?
Milwaukee's schedule is a bit all over the place, but after playing the Mets on the road, they return home for a quick three-game slate against the current American League West division leaders, the Texas Rangers.
The Brewers schedule also features seven more games against the Chicago Cubs from August 31 to September 9, and those seven could easily decide the fate of the NL Central this season.
Keep in mind, the Brewers' second-to-last series of the year is in Philadelphia against the Phillies, so that's another tough three-game slate which could prevent them from reaching their ultimate goal.
